If you haven't read "Prepairing a fish tank" you should read it before this.

Hi its jordan.D again and these are steps to Maintaining your fish tank.

Step1: remember to feed the right serving of food about 3 times a day.
Step2: every 2 weeks use your siphon hose and a bucket to clean the sand/gravel.
Step3:Change your water(1/2 of the tank must be empty. do this after you do step 2) add water in the bucket and put the water conditioner in it.
Step4: Poor water back in the tank.
Step5: take out the filter and clean it through out.
Step6:after every cleaning of the filter(step5) you must buy a new filter pad
Step7:Do a PH test to see if your PH is suitible for your fish..
Step8: Do a nitrate Test to see if your water change was successful.

If you see fish with white spots after your water change it is called ich or velvet you should get a product called "quick cure" it will cure these white spots.
white spots occur when you have stressed fish, nitrate level is too high, Tank is overcrowded, your filter pad needs to be changed or over feeding.
